A stunning Romantasy debut about an enchanted library, two handsome Fae, and one human who brings them all together.
A library with a deadly enchantment. A Fae lord who wants in. A human woman willing to risk it all for a taste of power.
In a land ruled by ruthless Fae, twenty-one-year-old Lore Alemeyu’s village is trapped in a forested prison. Lore knows that any escape attempt is futile—her scars are a testament to her past failures. But when her village is threatened, Lore makes a desperate deal with a Fae lord. She will leave her home to catalog/organize an enchanted library that hasn’t been touched in a thousand years. No Fae may enter the library, but there is a chance a human might be able to breach the cursed doors.
She convinces him that she will risk her life for wealth, but really she’s after the one thing the Fae covet above all: magic of her own.
As Lore navigates the hostile world outside, she’s forced to rely on two Fae males to survive. Two very different, very dangerous, very attractive Fae males. When undeniable chemistry ignites, she’s not just in danger of losing her life, but her heart to the very creatures she can never trust.

Let's help Afrori Books, an Indie Bookshop in the UK that sells books by Black Authors!
Do you have a favourite Indie Bookshop?🤎
I’ve visited a few in here in the UK and have a lot more that I want to visit! One of them is Afrori Books, which is located in Brighton and is the largest suppliers for books by Black authors in the UK. Afrori Books always gets praised and rightfully so in the book community in the UK and this month, they have set a goal of selling 1000 books to prevent their store from closing. Since last week, they’ve sold 600 and have 300 books left so let’s get them there!
They ship to the UK, EU and Canada but definitely double check to see if you can purchase from them in their website. You can also purchase eBooks through bookshop.org by choosing them as your bookstore or audiobooks through Libro.FM 🤎
Here are some of the books they’ve got stocked up that I recommend: 🍄 Love from the Cosmos by Mowa Badmos 🍄 Lore of the Wilds by Analeigh Sbrana 🍄 A Song of Legends Lost by M.H. Ayinde 🍄 Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma 🍄 Midnight Rooms by Donyae Coles 🍄 A Girl like her by Talia Hibbert 🍄 Struck Speechless by Tati Richardson 🍄 When Javi dumped Mari by Mia Sosa 🍄 Four Eids and a Funeral by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé and Adiba Jaigirdar
And here are 4 I purchased: 🍄 What a Match by Mimi Grace 🍄 Real Men Knit by Kwana Jackson 🍄 A Song of Salvation by Alechia Dow 🍄 Womb City by Tlotlo Tsamaase

\ \ My dear Froomies.\ \ It is Friday, everyone's favorite day, and we are back to spotlight another author that is near and dear to my heart.\ \ Drum roll please..........\ \ ANALEIGH SBRANA!!!!!!\ \ It truly should not come as a shock to you that I adore Analeigh. I've written analysis of both Lore of the Tides and Lore of the Wilds, both are published on here, and I have a book tree that is just her books. Safe to say, she is one of my favorites.\ \ The moment I picked up Lore of the Wilds, or it picked me as my friend gifted me a physical copy, I was unaware that this book would spark an obsession. That I was going to be served a beautiful fantasy narrative that is imaginative, full of heart, and something that all book readers should be exposed to. We are exposed to the world of Lore through her eyes, and from the beginning, we are met with two facts:\ \
- The inhabitants of her town were ripped away from their world to Alytheria, and cannot leave.\ \
- Lore loves books and and has a vast collection of them.\ \ \ While those two points may not connect on the surface, it becomes apparent to the reader that the stories are of high value because they are used as ways to teach the youth of what life was like in their rightful land. Given that this is black fantasy, the practice of elders retelling stories and becoming storykeepers is something that is important within Black History, preserving them through oral means to be used as celebrations and warnings. Beautifully described by Analeigh, we follow Lore as she carries the narratives and history throughout the first and second novel, making choices in order to make a place for her people where they can be safe.\ \ In her second novel, we see the growth in Analeigh's writing, as well as seeing Lore through devastating lows, that also mirror Black history.\ \ "To every Black reader who grew up looking for themselves on the fantasy shelves, this one's for you"\ \ -Analeigh Sbrana\ \ That is the quote that I needed in my life, and Analeigh is an author who understands the need for Blackness in Adult Fantasy. Around 6% of traditionally published authors are Black and the number is even smaller within the fantasy space. Which is abysmal.\ \ We need more authors like Analeigh, more people like her, who fill this space with their words, creating an impact where it needs it most.](https://brilefae.binderybooks.com/item/q0qsxHX4Otkj6iZY7ykZ/)

\ \ I love a good Black romance book. The kind that makes you melt a little and side-eye your own life like… okay but where is my magical man?\ \ And fantasy has always been my favorite genre. Give me powers, chosen ones, ancient prophecies, all of it. I want drama. I want tension. I want magic in the air.\ \ But over time I started noticing something. The books that really stuck with me were the ones where Black women were at the center of the magic and still allowed to be loved inside it. Not pushed to the sidelines. Not written as “strong” in a way that secretly means emotionally exhausted and alone. Just fully in the story. Fully desired. Fully chosen.\ \ I don’t even think I had language for that at first. I just knew those were the books I couldn’t shut up about.\ \ So I put together a list on the blog of 6 romantasy books by Black authors where Black women are central, magical, desired, and complicated in ways that feel real. Some are darker. Some are softer. A couple of them took over my entire personality for a solid week. A few are still on my TBR because I’m a chaotic mood reader and refuse to be managed.\ \ If you want the full breakdown, it’s here:\ \ Romantasy by Black Authors: Stories Where Black Women Are Magical and Loved\ \ But I’m curious. When was the first time you read fantasy and actually felt seen? And if you haven’t yet, what kind of magical Black heroine are you still waiting for?](https://thenerdybabelife.binderybooks.com/item/Igm4enQaiyPLLiwt5r1F/)

Cottagecore Librarian Mondays: Lore of the Wilds
Let’s start this monday by discussing what highly anticipated books we had this year that we did read or did not read yet! If you did read it, tell me how you liked it and if you did not, let’s discuss when you plan on reading it (I’ve got so many, not sure I’d be able to answer this one myself LOL😂😭)
I have had a lot of anticipated books that came out this year that I was super excited for but have not had the chance to read them yet. I am lowkey using this month to meet my reading goals (which I reduced from 80 to 60) but I’m also using it as an opportunity to read my highly anticipated books that came out this year! This list includes: (obviously will not be finished by 2024 unless a miracle happens😅): 🍄🟫Lore of the Wilds 🍄🟫Lady Macbeth 🍄🟫Letter to the Luminous Deep 🍄🟫A Tempest of Tea 🍄🟫A Fate Inked in Blood 🍄🟫The Familiar 🍄🟫Immortal Dark 🍄🟫Rewitched 🍄🟫The Spellshop
What are some books you wished you finished this year but did not (so far)? And on the other hand, what are books you did finish and you’re super happy you did from this year’s release!
Also take a peak at one of the most beautiful special edition from this year: Lore of the Wild🍄🍄🟫 @literaryxqueen @fairyloot

\ \ Like many folks with great taste, I am very excited about the latest book in the Legendborn Cycle: Oathbound. Since my physical copy of the new tome doesn't arrive from Bookshop.org until this Friday, I'm rereading Bloodmarked this week.\ \ Currently, I'm a little over halfway through the book and have paused reading my arc of Lore of the Tides, which comes out in July of this year, so I can finish Bloodmarked ASAP.\ \ If you haven't read Legendborn and Lore of the Wilds yet, I need you to rethink your reading priorities, friend! Both are amazing series with Black female leads who are strong-willed, powerful, and are given space to be vulnerable. The Legendborn Cycle is a Young Adult series that takes place in the modern-day United States and is inspired by Arthurian lore and Black American spiritual traditions like rootwork aka hoodoo. So far, there are three books in this series.\ \ The Lore of the Wilds duology is a New Adult series set in a magical land ruled by Fae. This duology is special to me because it has an all Black cast and uses inclusive language. I requested the arc for review from Netgalley and hope to finish it soon so I can share my review with all of you lovely people!\ \ What are y'all reading right now?\ \ Join for free or login](https://bookish-afrolatina.binderybooks.com/item/zFwqBxpStxVhvIWXI54I/)
