Perfect for fans of Alice Hoffman, Isabel Allende, and Sarah Addison Allen, a family searches for the truth hidden in their past in this “expertly woven tale of family power, threaded with as much mystery as magic” (V.E. Schwab, #1 New York Times bestselling author).
The Montoyas are used to a life without explanations. They know better than to ask why the pantry never seems to run low, or why their matriarch won’t ever leave their home in Four Rivers—not for graduations, weddings, or baptisms. But when Orquídea Divina invites them to her funeral and to collect their inheritance, they hope to learn the secrets that she has held onto so tightly their whole lives. Instead, Orquídea is transformed into a ceiba tree, leaving them with more questions than answers.
Seven years later, her gifts have manifested in different ways for Marimar, Rey, and Rhiannon, granting them unexpected blessings and powers. But soon, a hidden figure begins to tear through their family tree, picking them off one by one as it seeks to destroy Orquídea’s line. Determined to save what’s left of their family and uncover the truth behind their inheritance, her descendants travel to Ecuador—to the place where Orquídea buried her secrets and broken promises and never looked back.
Alternating between Orquídea’s past and her descendants’ present, The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina is a “spellbinding tale, both timeless and fresh, that will stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page. Prepare to fall in love” (Kim Liggett, New York Times bestselling author).

i had a joyous night celebrating a year of Primero Sueño Press @primerosuenopress – and seeing bookish friends, too! this celebration was hosted at @recirculation.nyc which is a community space I’m already excited to visit again.
there was an incredibly thoughtful panel discussing the future of Latinx publishing, author signings, and lots of good eats and drinks.
obviously Kyle had to say hi to The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina, the final book on the #readingroadtorings!
and Michelle @berrybookpages took the best photos of me & Kyle 😭🫶

[Poll:\ \ Do you like to write?\ \ I’ve been a writer since before I could string together sentences. I’d heard good things about Romancing The Craft, so when I found out a day long workshop was happening near me, I hopped on it. An amazing caliber of authors filled the various panels of the day and it seemed like a great opportunity to connect with fellow writers.\ \ What is Romancing The Craft? \ \
Romancing the Craft is a one-day conference aimed toward marginalized unpublished and published romance authors which offers them programing to develop their craft, to learn from masters of the genre, and advance their careers through valuable networking opportunities with peers and other industry professionals.\ \ On May 3, I drove to the Rutgers Academic Building in New Jersey. The event started with an opening keynote between Mia Sosa and Sarah Younger. They told the story of how they came to the industry and how they became an author/agent duo. From there, Adriana Herrera and Sarah MacLean gave a masterclass about writing a romance novel. I love hearing authors speak about the way they approach stories. After that, there was a panel that spoke about the future of romance.\ \ \ \ I can’t say enough good things about this day-long workshop. When signing up, attendees had a two sections of workshops that had two choices. I went to the Writing A Character They’ll Root For with Alisha Rai and Refreshing the Classics: Romantic Retellings with Nikki Payne. People have been retelling stories for hundreds if not thousands of years, so hearing how Niki Payne broke down her method helped me brainstorm future stories on my very long roster of things I’d like to write.\ \ \ \ Romancing the Craft was a fantastic way to hear about craft and connect with authors and writers. If you are a marginalized writer and are about to attend a workshop I highly recommend it.\ \
