Children of Diaspora
How was your Q2?
I’ve finally gotten out of my reading slump and it’s been wonderful being able to enjoy books again. I’ve been in a crochet frenzy lately and that’s been so much fun. I don’t have any pictures but I’ve also been taking Spanish classes again and going to language exchange meet ups to practice 😁
@booknetfest was definitely one of the biggest highlights of these last three months and I’m counting down the days till next year 🫶🏾
The World Cup has taken up so much of my summer and these Panini stickers may cause my financial ruin if I can’t get an exchange going soon 🥲

250 years of MESS
Today is the 4 of July, a complicated day for many of us but more importantly: Haymitch Abernathy’s birthday 🎂
Thank you @harpercollins for sending me these classics. If you saw my video last month with the tote bag and mug (that I’ve been using every day) then this is basically a part two to that.

50+ New Releases by BIPOC
What are you looking forward to most for July? The World Cup has consumed my life (as it does every four years) and I’m looking forward to seeing all these African and Latin American nations leading this year. It’s truly been the most shocking tournament I’ve witnessed in so many of the best ways ⚽️🥅🏟️
Summer is always slow for publishing but there are still so many great books coming out this month so make sure to put those library orders in and look for these on your bookstore runs 📚 And before I forget, the Children of Diaspora book club is reading Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar for July so if you haven’t joined yet, now is the time ☺️
