The Sunday Prescription

Overview

Welcome back to another Sunday Prescription! This week, we explore the recent discussions about the honesty of bookish content creators and influencers.

Discussion Points

My Reading Policies

  1. Honesty in Reviews: I will only review books I have read and will disclose if I did not finish (DNF) a book.
  2. Transparent Reading Wrap-Ups: I clearly state what formats I read (e-book, physical, audio) without numeric reading goals.
  3. Disclosure of Free Books: I will always mention if a book was provided for free, and I have no financial agreements that influence my reviews.

What I’m Reading

This week has been great for reading. Currently finishing up Valour by John Gwynne and Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. In August, we’ll read The Jasad Heir for our main book club and The Wolf and His King for Dr. Bob's Literary Apothecary book club. Additionally, I’ll dive into The Butcher of Nazareth as part of our reading challenge.

Hobbies and Content Creation

Aside from reading, I’ve been enjoying working on a Minas Tirith Lego set and planning my YouTube content for August. I recommend batch recording for anyone who creates content as it simplifies the process significantly.

Final Thoughts

What’s your take on the accusations against book influencers? Is it fair to question their honesty, or is this a baseless concern?

Hope you all have a great reading week!
