# The Sunday Prescription

## Overview
Welcome back to another Sunday Prescription! This week, we explore the recent discussions about the honesty of bookish content creators and influencers.

## Discussion Points
- **Accusations of Dishonesty**: Many creators are accused of not genuinely reading the books they review, often perceived as chasing clout.
- **Research from Publishers**: Publishing companies conduct thorough research before reaching out to creators, typically selecting those with similar interests to the books they wish to promote.
- **Volume Accusations**: Some claim that influencers exaggerate the number of books they read, often due to different reading habits.

## My Reading Policies
1. **Honesty in Reviews**: I will only review books I have read and will disclose if I did not finish (DNF) a book.
2. **Transparent Reading Wrap-Ups**: I clearly state what formats I read (e-book, physical, audio) without numeric reading goals.
3. **Disclosure of Free Books**: I will always mention if a book was provided for free, and I have no financial agreements that influence my reviews.

## What I’m Reading
This week has been great for reading. Currently finishing up *Valour* by John Gwynne and *Empire of the Vampire* by Jay Kristoff. In August, we’ll read *The Jasad Heir* for our main book club and *The Wolf and His King* for Dr. Bob's Literary Apothecary book club. Additionally, I’ll dive into *The Butcher of Nazareth* as part of our reading challenge.

## Hobbies and Content Creation
Aside from reading, I’ve been enjoying working on a Minas Tirith Lego set and planning my YouTube content for August. I recommend batch recording for anyone who creates content as it simplifies the process significantly.

## Final Thoughts
What’s your take on the accusations against book influencers? Is it fair to question their honesty, or is this a baseless concern?

Hope you all have a great reading week!
