As destiny calls, a journey begins. It has been twenty years since the godlike Augurs were overthrown and killed. Now, those who once served them—the Gifted—are spared only because they have accepted the rebellion's Four Tenets, vastly limiting their powers. **As a Gifted, Davian suffers the consequences of a war lost before he was even born.** He and others like him are despised. But when Davian discovers he wields the forbidden power of the Augurs, he and his friends Wirr and Asha set into motion a chain of events that will change everything. To the west, a young man whose fate is intertwined with Davian's wakes up in the forest, covered in blood and with no memory of who he is. And in the far north, an ancient enemy long thought defeated begins to stir. **The Licanius Trilogy is a series readers will have a hard time putting down—a relentless coming-of-age epic from the very first page.** > “Storytelling assurance rare for a debut… Fans of Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson will find much to admire.” — Guardian Show more Get the Bindery app * * * Posts about this title from Fantasy & Frens [Fantasy & Frens\\ \\ Zoranne\\ \\ • Jan 15 2023](https://fantasyandfrens.binderybooks.com/) [23 BOOKS I WANT TO READ IN 2023](https://fantasyandfrens.binderybooks.com/item/eLjBFGOavnDi7Z7gS5LY/) these are the 23 fantasy books i \*hope\* to read in 2023! please wish me luck because i am going to need it! Hard to believe, but it is time to vote for our Q3 Book Club picks! For those of you who are new around here, we pick our books out quarterly to give people time to find the books and prepare their reading plans. We are now selecting our books for July -September 2026. \\ \\ If you are just here on Bindery and not on our Discord server, we take proposals on Discord. Everyone has a week to post suggestions, react, and comment. I then whittle them down based on the following:\\ \\ - Popularity: How many emojis/comments did a book get.\\ \\ - Content of comments - does it seem like the group is interested, have a large number read or not, etc. \\ \\ - Ensuring a diversity of reads, authors, book/story types, and sizes.\\ \\ - Last but not least, my interest is the tiebreaker when things are close. \\ \\ \\ We had 31 submissions for this quarter, and so many amazing books to choose from! We had 5 clear top choices, 3 that were pretty clearly next in line, and then one that I picked amongst a few that were all pretty close. \\ \\ This poll will close in one week, and the final choices will be announced June 1. You may select up to 3 choices! And don't forget, if you are looking for more beyond the book club, consider upgrading to the paid tier where paid member's get to choose a book to read with me each month, or check out our many buddy reads we have going at all times over on Discord!\\ \\ Happy voting!\\ \\ Join for free or login](https://docofthedarkarts.binderybooks.com/item/GMzm18nX34PMJ1tjwJXl/) [Q3 Book Club Poll!](https://docofthedarkarts.binderybooks.com/item/GMzm18nX34PMJ1tjwJXl/) * * * 9 books 13 [The Biblio(files)\\ \\ Brooke \\ \\ • Mar 31](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/) Join for free \\ \\ Upgrade for $5 or login](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/item/sqvwggLqUJXCye85dvp4/) [Shadow of what was lost part 2](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/item/sqvwggLqUJXCye85dvp4/) finishing up weeks 3 and 4 of A shadow of what was lost * * * 1 book [The Biblio(files)\\ \\ Brooke \\ \\ • Mar 13](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/) Join for free \\ \\ Upgrade for $5 or login](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/item/mIfCjDGy6NmR29vr071p/) [the shadow of what was lost part 1](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/item/mIfCjDGy6NmR29vr071p/) The shadow of what was lost by James Islington up to chapter 28 * * * 1 book [The Biblio(files)\\ \\ Brooke \\ \\ • Mar 13](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/) Join for free [Feb/March final verdicts](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/item/hdg4qwq8SJrzaHANAx4F/) all the books i read at the end of February/early march * * * 4 books [The Biblio(files)\\ \\ Brooke \\ \\ • Mar 6](https://onthebrookeshelves.binderybooks.com/) Join for free [Here we are 6 days in and apparently my internet glitched and never posted the reading schedule for our book this month.
