Every year, the Beztiqi royal family holds a festival honoring their ancestors. But while the family tree—golden and glorious—towers over the city, mixed-bloods like Lendelam, sullied by a people who once roamed the land, aren’t allowed to attend.
Tenma, the oldest living ancestor of her tainted bloodline, has been imprisoned for nearly a millennium. The Beztiqi queen, like her predecessors, is using his existence as fuel to continue ostracizing the mixed-bloods.
But Lendelam has a plan—a scheme so insane that if she’s caught, Queen Azella wouldn’t hesitate to execute her. On the last day of the festival, she’s going to break into the prison...and set Tenma free.

BLACK indie author day!
Today is BLACK indie author day and I want you to spend today fighting for Black authors! Here are some ways you can do just that! (1) go buy at least one of the books I am linking to this post (2) promote a Black author on your social media or recommend a Black author to a fiend and (3) invite a friend to subscribe to this Bindery so they can join the fight for authors in the margins! The work we are doing MATTERS and it can’t happen without a thriving community. So help me build it! Love you all!

Books by Black Men
We had an event the other day where we invited the Black men of BookTok to come and share their experiences in bookish spaces with us! It was an enjoyable experience in my opinion! Here is a list of their books! Feel free to go check them out!
