Left Unread Books | 7 Days of Giveaways: DAY ONE!!!
7 Days of Giveaways: DAY ONE!!!
If you haven't seen on my social media yet, I am doing seven days of giveaways in celebration of the launch of our first book next Tuesday!
But before I get to today's giveaway, let me just remind you that with Cry, Voidbringer coming out in just six days, right now is the perfect time to order your copy! Pre-orders make a massive difference in the early success of a book and a huge part of successfully fighting for Black and brown authors is helping their stories to get onto more bookstore shelves. This is how we get that done. So if you are in a position to order now, rather than after launch, please do so. Here is a direct link: https://bookshop.org/a/87137/9781964721521
Now for our giveaway!!!
WHAT ARE WE GIVING AWAY TODAY?
- An ARC of Devil of the Deep by Falencia Jean-Francois. This is the second acquisition for our imprint-- Left Unread Books. It will be launching in April of 2026 and is an exploration and scathing rebuke of Christian nationalism packaged within a Haitian mermaid & pirate story. It follows a Black woman who has built a name for herself as the most fearsome pirate on the seas after she comes across a young mermaid who has fled her home to protect a mystical artifact from the underwater cult that is pursuing her. Together, along with her long lost love--a Black trans man who has found himself aligned with the very cult they are fleeing from--they must tackle not only the organization trying to destroy them, but wrestle with the ideologies that have robbed so many of their people of their ancestral identities. This is a story about wrestling with colonial religion and reclaiming ancestral identity and faith.
