I know it has been a small eternity since I let you know that we had put an offer in on a book.

Well... that is because we were elbow deep in negotiations... and... well...

WE HAVE OUR FIRST ACQUISITION!!!!!

Cry, Voidbringer is an incredible fantasy that follows a jaded warrior who has spent her life in forced servitude to a post-colonial nation that is fighting to maintain its freedom from a larger, former oppressor. When she accidentally stumbles across a young girl with enough power to turn the tide of the war, she makes it her mission to protect her from becoming the Queen's weapon. This is a story that challenges colonialism, critiques the way imperialism attempts to steal the identities of marginalized people, and questions whether the tools of our oppressors are ever "for the greater good".

Elaine is an Asian-American illustrator and author. She bounces between the US and Singapore, belonging to both and neither. Her work primarily explores themes of identity and home, while also being drawn to the broken and the beautiful. She originally received a degree in Psychology before pivoting into art full-time. Find her work at artofelaineho.com

I could not be more excited to be able to partner with Elaine to bring her story to life and I hope that you all are as excited as I am!

This announcement will not be public until TOMORROW (10.10.24) at NOON CST, so please keep it to yourself for tonight!

Thanks everyone! I will be introducing you all to Elaine directly very soon! And if you want to be privy to publishing decisions as they are being made, and/or get sneak peaks of the cover/excerpts, and even get a finished copy at the end, make sure you are subscribed at the appropriate tier for the perks you want.

Can't wait to take this book so far together!!!!!
