Pitch Fest is in 7 Days!

We only have SEVEN days until Bindery opens up submissions to unagented authors! I am anticipating a large rush of manuscripts. Open up this post to read more.

I cannot wait to start reading manuscripts! Here is what this is going to look like for everyone!

From July 10th through July 12th, authors will be submitting their manuscripts to us for review. After that, I will be hunkering down in my house to READ like I've never read before! And I will be filming a lot of my thoughts and reactions along the way.

For those of you subscribed to a paying tier, here is what you can expect:

• Early on, I will share a video, summarizing the pitches I have received and kind of giving you my gut reaction to those story ideas. I will open the comments to hear your thoughts and feedback, and will be taking your comments into consideration as I filter out any stories that I know from the jump wouldn't be a right fit for us.
• Once I have a list of books that sound like they are up our alley, I will read the first 50 pages of every single one and create a series of videos where I summarize those stories generally and give you my thoughts on which I'm excited about, which lost me, and which I'm unsure of. And once again, I will open the comments for you to offer feedback! I want whatever book I pick to be one that we can champion as a community, so I want to know what you're interested in pursuing! The purpose of this part of the process will be to narrow down those submissions to a small number of books we are very excited about!
• Then the FUN part starts! I will hunker down and read that entire short list of books from cover to cover. I will share small excerpts and discuss the general themes and vibe of each book with you, without going into too much detail. But I'll share enough where you can craft informed opinions.
• And then... with all of your thoughts and feedback taken into consideration, I will hopefully find a book that we can champion! If not, we will keep searching!

If you are subscribed to the free tier, I will still update you periodically, I just won't be sharing details about the manuscripts. You will still hear about things before the wider world does and I will continue to create all of my regular content! But for those of you that want an early peek at the stories I am reading and a part in deciding which book we publish, please make sure you are subscribed at a paying tier!

Every paid member will get to contribute toward publishing decisions. And additionally, $5 members will get a free e-copy of our books once they are published. And $12 members will get a free paperback copy and your name listed on a thank you page in the book!
