By #1 New York Times bestselling author Holly Black, the first book in a stunning new series about a mortal girl who finds herself caught in a web of royal faerie intrigue.
Of course I want to be like them. They're beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever. And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.
Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.
To win a place at the Court, she must defy him—and face the consequences.
In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

How Similar Is Our Taste in Books?
How Similar Is Our Taste in Books? +10 points if you’ve read it +5 points if it’s on your TBR 500 possible points (including Finding Gene Kelly 😉)
This is DEFINITELY a non-exhaustive list—there were so many I had to cut out because I didn’t want it to be 500 slides long. But I feel like this is a decent grasp of my tastes?
I’ve absolutely been loving this trend and I had to participate, even if I’m a little bit late to the game (as usual lol)

My Cruel Prince Tattoo Design!
This is one of my favorite moments in the book. When Jude stabs herself through her hand to prove that she is a badass bitch who will no longer be afraid. "Instead of being afraid, I could become something to fear." The design will have more elements, but this is a mock-up of the general idea I am going for!

Weird things all readers do part 4! I am guilty of all of these quirks although the annotating one is new to me. Do you relate to any of these “weird” but completely normal reader habits?! If so, which? I am definitely most guilty of going to the bookstore just to look at all the books… #books #booktok #reading #bookishthings #readerhabits #bookworm

This might be the coolest and most beautiful non book bookish item to grace my bookshelves. I want one of these made for every single one of my favorite books, but for now, I am glad to have one designer for The Cruel Prince! Have you ever seen a book book before?! Do you own one?! Do you WANT one as much as I do?! #books #bookstagram #bookshelf #ilovebooks #readmorebooks #thecruelprince #booksbooksbooks

I am absolutely OBSESSED with this new feature I’m starting to see being adopted into the book world. It’s such a great and cost effective way to make your books feel like special editions. The Cruel Prince is one of my favorite books, and this artwork is absolutely breath taking. I hope more and more places start making these! #books #bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #ilovebooks #thecruelprince #hollyblack #readmorebooks
