In this debut YA speculative romance perfect for fans of Rachael Lippincott, two queer, disabled, Jewish teens find themselves stuck in a time loop—and falling in love.
Phoebe Mendel's day is never ending—literally. On August 6th, she woke up to find herself stuck in a time loop. And for nearly a month of August 6ths since, Phoebe has relived the same day: pancakes with Mom in the morning, Scrabble with Dad in the afternoon, and constant research into how to reach tomorrow and make it to her appointment with a doctor who may actually take her IBS seriously. Everything is exactly, agonizingly the same.
That is, until the most mundane car crash ever sends Phoebe's childhood crush Jess crashing into the time loop. Now also stuck, Jess convinces Phoebe to break out of her routine and take advantage of their consequence-free days to have fun. From splurging on concert tickets, to enacting (mostly) harmless revenge, to all-night road trips, Jess pulls Phoebe further and further out of her comfort zone—and deeper in love with them.
But the more Phoebe falls for Jess, the more she worries about what's on the other side of the time loop. What if Jess is only giving her the time of day because they're trapped with no other options? What if Phoebe's new doctor dismisses her chronic pain? And perhaps worst of all: What if she never gets the chance to find out?

Fat Tuesday: FAT QUEER FICTION MATTERS
✨FAT QUEER FICTION MATTERS✨ Happy Fat Tuesday, Friends! This week is a special Pride edition where I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how Pride and fat liberation are interconnected. The first Pride was a protest, and like queer bodies, fat bodies deserve to exist and love exactly as they are.
It was REALLY difficult to find a lot of fiction for some of these slides— especially act, aro, and demj rep in fat fiction. Representation is so important, and it’s clear that we need a lot more of.
💬TELL ME: What is your favorite fat queer book? Self recs are always welcome! Let us know below. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ . . . . . #fattuesday #bookstagram #fatfiction #queerfiction #bookrecs lgbtqiap. lgbtq. pridemonth. fatvoices. fatliberation. fatacceptance.

I read so many books for my thesis and for work in 2025, and many of them made my list of favorite reads for the year. I also read a ton of fiction, continuing my horror streak from last year and deep-diving into new-to-me authors.
Here’s to another year of book club meetings, listening to audiobooks on my commute to therapy, and staying up way too late reading comics in bed. 💛📚

[Poll:\ \ Are any of these on your TBR?\ \ Hi nerds,\ \ Last night we held our second installment of the Sunny's Salon—a monthly addition to our event programming that is like a book club with no assigned reading. We kicked off the night by doing a 15 minute reading sprint with some lofi music playing in the background and then went into a larger discussion centered around or Last, Now, and Next. It was so fun hearing about what people were reading or had on their radar (weirdly three people wanted to read Lapvona by Ottessa Moshfegh next) and seeing where reading taste overlapped and differed. Below you will find 50 (!) book recommendations gathered from the Yuma community.\ \ \ \
