What’s worse than being snowed in with your ex? Literally nothing.
Initially, the only thing Marshall and Marshall had in common was a name. Marshall (aka Data) lived his life around spreadsheets, while Marshall (aka Marsh) was an F5 tornado of chaos. Yet for eight years, they were madly in love. Until Marsh abruptly ended things with a half-baked excuse.
Six months later, Data gets a text from Marsh out of the blue: they need to clean out their cabin in Maine and sell it ASAP. He can make it through one more weekend with the man who broke his heart.
Marsh loved adding squiggles to the straight lines of his boyfriend. If only he could’ve lived up to the potential Data saw in him. If only he didn’t feel like he was one big miscalculation on Data’s ledger. Saying goodbye to Marshmallow Mountain will be the final tie to sever, even though he still pines for his number-crunching teddy bear.
But when a massive snowstorm traps them in their small cabin for days, they’re forced to confront hard truths about their breakup…as well as resist the sweltering heat raging between them.
These boys might be headed for a second act, but only if they can make it off Marshmallow Mountain.

“Marshmallow Mountain” by A.J. Truman and M.A. Wardell: Review
“Marshmallow Mountain” by A.J. Truman and M.A. Wardell was such a heartwarming and hilarious read that I couldn’t put it down. From the moment I started, I could feel the perfect blend of both authors’ writing styles, so seamless that I couldn’t tell who wrote which character! The book’s wintery setting gave me all the cozy vibes I could ask for, with a romance that was equally sweet and spicy. The comedic moments were laugh-out-loud funny, adding a fun layer to an already engaging second-chance romance. And the spice? Absolutely scalding hot, yet full of heart and meaning, perfectly complementing the emotional depth of the story.
I’ll admit, at first, having both characters named Marshall (Data and Marsh) was a bit confusing, but once I got to know them, it became so clear who was who, and it added a unique charm to the book. The way Marsh and Data navigated their past hurt and unresolved feelings was beautifully done, and watching them slowly reconnect during their time snowed in together was nothing short of magical. Their love for each other was undeniable, and the way they worked through their struggles, especially with Marsh’s insecurities and Data’s need for structure, was both heartwarming and relatable. There’s just something so satisfying about reading two people who are clearly perfect for each other find their way back.
One of the things that stood out the most for me was how positively and wholesomely plus-sized men were portrayed. Both Marsh and Data embraced and loved their bodies, which added so much to the authenticity of their relationship. I also connected deeply with Marsh’s struggle with asthma and his father’s Alzheimer’s, which was written with so much care and sensitivity. It’s rare to see these elements portrayed so thoughtfully in romance, and it made the story all the more meaningful. “Marshmallow Mountain” was an absolute joy to read, and A.J. Truman and M.A. Wardell definitely did not disappoint in their first co-written book!
