Looking for your next emotional romance with unforgettable characters and authentic first responder representation? You're going to want to meet K.T. Lee, author of All of It Was for You.

In this month's Book Club Conversations, we sat down with K.T. Lee to discuss the inspiration behind her heartfelt novel, the real-life experiences that shaped Lauren and Grant's story, the books that made her a reader, and some fun rapid-fire facts every book lover will enjoy.

Writing a Love Story Unlike Any Other

When asked what inspired All of It Was for You, K.T. shared that she wanted to write the kind of book she had never seen on bookstore shelves. Instead of revisiting familiar romance plots, she created a story centered on a paramedic and a veteran police officer, blending authentic first responder experiences with an emotional journey of love, resilience, and heartbreak.

Bringing First Responders to Life

One of the things that makes All of It Was for You feel so authentic is K.T.'s own background. She has spent nearly nine years working in emergency medical services and three years as a 911 dispatcher, drawing inspiration from real calls and experiences to create believable, emotionally charged scenes throughout the novel.

Three Words That Describe Her Books

When asked to sum up her writing in only three words, K.T.'s answer was simple:

If you love stories that make you laugh, cry, and think long after you've finished reading, this one should definitely be on your radar.

The Book That Started It All

Like so many readers, K.T.'s love of books began with a childhood classic. She credits Beauty and the Beast as the story that first made her fall in love with reading, sharing a touching memory of her grandmother reading it to her while sitting on a bench swing overlooking the garden. It's a memory she says ultimately inspired her own journey as an author.

Mystery Reader at Heart

Although she writes emotional contemporary fiction, K.T. admits she's a thriller reader through and through. Some of her favorite mystery elements include:

She's also an auto-buy reader for authors like Jeneva Rose, Lucinda Berry, and Frieda McFadden.

Reality TV Chaos

If Lauren, Grant, and Sloane ever landed on reality television? K.T. says they'd fit perfectly on Impractical Jokers. Grant would struggle through every challenge, Lauren would keep a straight face (until she couldn't), and Sloane would absolutely do whatever it took to win.

A Message for Readers

K.T. Lee: I hope you fall in love with Lauren and Grant as much as I did. They are two incredible characters, and I can't wait for you to meet them.
