Hi Violetear Books Community!

This past week has been a whirlwind of writing, reading, and content creating. The weather here has started getting chilly, making it perfect for curling up with a good book. Also, have you seen Wicked? I have seen it three times now, and it just gets better and better! One can say I am a bit....obsessed.

📖 What I’m Reading This Week

I’m currently about halfway through Wicked by Gregory Maguire, and let me tell you—it is NOTHING like the musical! It feels like a completely new story, and I’m loving the darker, grittier tone. Everyone is kind of mean, and the amount of lore about Oz is incredible. You’ll never get this level of detail from the musical or the movie.

That said, fair warning: this is NOT a book for kids. I have friends who read it in middle school, and each of them told me they were traumatized.

I’ve been enjoying both the physical copy along with the audiobook on Spotify. (Pro tip: If you have Spotify Premium, audiobooks are available, and in girl math, that basically makes them free.)
